Portfolio

These are sites I’ve worked on, in reverse chronological order, with a brief description of the work I did.

  • Yodelscope (www.yodelscope.com) – ongoing
Yodelscope is a geosocial website that allows users to find events happening in their area. Users search concert, art, and theater listings pulled from a wide range of sources as well as user-created events.
Yodelscope started as a PHP application that used no external libraries. I was hired to debug and maintain the application and eventually joined the company as co-owner and tech lead. I am in the process of converting it to use Django.
  • B. Toys (www.justb-byou.com)
An interactive website for a toy company that allows parents to submit quotes from their child for sharing, printing, etc. Also includes a product catalog, blog, FAQ, and store finder.
Built on Django. The framework of the app was already laid out very well by Chris Poyzer when I started. (That link goes to his blog, built by him in Django!) I worked on the front and back end of the site, switching between Python/Django and Javascript with jQuery. Sections I worked on include: quote creation, product catalog, store finder, and a lot of work on the backend CMS.
  • Helen Matatov (www.helenmatatov.com)
Helen Matatov is a writer living and working in Manhattan.
I bought the domain name and set up WordPress as a birthday present to Helen, who is a friend from college.
  • Iceberg Reader (www.icebergreader.com)
Site for ScrollMotion‘s iPhone ebook reader.
I made minor changes and maintained the server as part of my other duties while working at ScrollMotion.
  • Lizzy Pitch (www.lizzypitch.com)
Lizzy Pitch is a permanently touring independent musician and personal friend.
I did a design for this years ago before I made a WordPress blog for her, which is now the whole site.
  • Beethoven Pianos (www.beethovenpianos.com)
Manhattan piano store with online catalog.
The store owners wanted some relatively simple changes to their catalog that required editing the OSCommerce PHP files.
  • Lucos Group (www.lucosgroup.com)
Lucos Group does custom furniture and renovations in Manhattan and around the world.
I did all of the design and coding for this site. It was the first thing I did in PHP. The portfolio page is dynamically created from a directory of images and thumbnails. Folder names are used for section names, so to update the site, they just have to upload a folder with the proper name, images, and thumbnails.
